Q: What instructions and/or procedures are given to participants (and their co-workers) so they can access and fill-out the SYMLOG survey on the internet? Are these different from the hard copies that we used in the past? Would it be advisable to give the instructions as a hard copy prior to the participants? logging in? A: The participants will receive an e-mail of the instructions. A link to a web page displaying the questions will be included in the instructions. Q: What information do you need from us, e.g. name of the program, list of participants and their code names, etc.? A: Please download, thoroughly complete, and return the Internet Processing Order and Disclosure Form ASAP, or use our Online Order Form. This will give us all pertinent information. Q: Are there any hardware or software requirements for participants, other than simply being able to access the internet? What are the hardware and software requirements on our part to monitor and print the reports? A: The participant's Internet browser must be able to receive "cookies". Browsers by default ship with this setting and it will only will be a problem if the setting was manually changed by the participant. For you to monitor the process, you will need an Internet connection and browser to view our status page. This page provides a real-time status of which participants have made ratings, etc. We can ship you the printed reports or, if you desire to print them yourselves, we can ship them to you in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. You will need to download the free Acrobat Reader software from the Adobe site prior to opening and printing the file that we send to you. Q: Would it be possible for us to get a sample of the reports to be generated? Are there substantial (or even formatting) changes from the previous (circa early 90?s) reports? A: The reports are much the same as you remember. If you would like a sample report, please contact our office and we will e-mail you a PDF file of a sample. Q: How quickly can the processing be completed? A: SYMLOG requires a minimum of 3 (three) business days, excluding weekends and US Holidays, once the consultant is satisfied that sufficient ratings have been completed and advises our office of the cut-off date . You will need to monitor the program carefully, using the Consultant Management Page, in order to ensure sufficient participation (sufficient data for each person) which will generate reports. Q: Do you have suggestions on how we should monitor the process of getting participants and their co-workers to fill out the on-line surveys? Are there intermediate control points when we can check the progress of participants/co-workers in meeting the deadline for answering the survey? Aside from meeting the deadline, we are concerned about their filling out the surveys correctly. A: We provide you with a Status Page where you may monitor the progress of your program. The participants will receive their instructions via e-mail. The instructions they receive assign their authorization number and tells them how to log in. It is HIGHLY encouraged that you send a follow-up e-mail explaining the nuances of your program; what concepts they will rate, how to choose a co-worker, and that they need to rate their co-workers with a three letter code name where necessary. The instructions that we send are unique (in that they contain authorization numbers), your follow-up e-mail can be more general and you may send to everyone at one time if you desire. Q: Would it be possible for us to familiarize ourselves with the survey so that we can help participants should the need arise? A: We have a test web site available if you would like to examine the process. If you would like to do so, please advise and we will send an authorization number with co-worker numbers for you to examine the process. |
