SYMLOG ® -- "We Measure and Improve Social Interaction Systems"

Welcome to SYMLOG on the World Wide Web.

I write with the assumption that this is your first visit to these pages and that you would like to learn something about SYMLOG. You are likely to want to know what it is, where and when it was developed, who has used it, and how it has helped them.

I have tried to be brief in answering these questions but, as you will discover, SYMLOG is a big topic and covers a lot of ground. We have over 1,000,000 SYMLOG profiles in our data bank and I have selected samples to help illustrate some applications.  So, if you make it through the next few minutes, I think you will enjoy the story and have a good introduction to SYMLOG (A SYstem for the Multiple Level Observation of Groups).

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words...

I once heard SYMLOG referred to by a businessman in Malaysia (a long way from our origins at Harvard) as the "Hubble Telescope for the Social Sciences". I thought this was a very apt description. You are about to see why as we view some pictures "taken" with SYMLOG instruments.

Let's begin by looking at a few graphic displays... please click on the "next page" button to your left....
